What a great list! Such a great idea, too. Night Porter was just reissued by Criterion with a new interview with the director so good timing there. Starstruck is such a delight being a musical and all so I hope you like it. Mariane and Julia is such an underrated movie. I keep dreaming that Criterion or someone gives it a good release finally. Have you read House of Psychotic Women? There's a great section in it regarding In My Skin. By the way, Camille Paglia appears in Female Misbehaviour if that's a problem at all. Treut's earlier Virgin Machine should be Paglia free tho.
ReplyDeleteI have read House of Psychotic Women, and it's one of the more important books I've read on film. Paglia appearing isn't an issue. I'm not a fan of her's, but it won't detract me from watching that film, and if anything her politics give me another thing to write about when I view that movie
DeleteOh good! Lots of luck as you prepare for it. Your project sounds so very exciting.
